Ant Hamlyn (UK, 1993) showcases works as a tactile performance of objects, producing metaphorical and anthropomorphic scenarios, manipulating recognisable forms, language, fairground lights, and other visual elements to act out parts in dystopian predictions, real-life anxieties and bodily imperfections. This allows him to explore the relationship between modern technology and the self in relation to contemporary life. These artworks take form as kinetic sculptures, text, objects and interactive installations. He graduated in 2017, MA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art after receiving the Cecil Lewis sculpture Scholarship.
He is a recipient of the 2018/19 Red Mansion Art Prize. Hamlyn had exhibited at Zabludowicz Collection, V&A and in various museums and galleries in Europe, Australia and Asia.
